At the Ulster Gliding Club, we enjoy an active and inclusive social scene. When the weather cooperates, our beautiful setting offers ideal conditions for weekend BBQs, parties, and live music performances.
The Winter, Easter, and July holidays see the club open for continuous flying operations, with many visitors from other gliding clubs joining us for the duration.
On the Summer Solstice, it has been a club tradition to hold 'The Longest Day' flying operations, from first to last light.
On non-flying days over the summer months, the club often plays host to aircraft shows, vintage car rallies, and eccentric bicycling meets.
We are also an optimal location for viewing the Clipper Ships race along the Foyle.
In the past we have hosted a number of official and unofficial government visits, happy to introduce politicians to the sport of gliding.
We have provided backdrops for several filmed production, and have taken part in several aviation-related BBC documentary series.
